About Title I at PCA

Title I, part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), provides critical federal funding to schools across the nation. This support ensures all students have equitable access to high-quality education, aiming for all students to achieve or exceed proficiency in academic standards.

Title I Program Overview

The New Mexico Public Education Department oversees Title I in New Mexico schools. At Pecos Cyber Academy, we serve all eligible students, focusing particularly on those most at risk of academic difficulties to ensure they receive the additional support they need to excel.

Title I, Part A: Key Focus Areas

  1.  Accountability for Student Success: Pecos Cyber Academy is committed to monitoring and improving student outcomes by holding ourselves accountable for every student’s progress.
  2. School-Wide Improvement and Research-Based Strategies: We implement school-wide reforms using evidence-based strategies to enhance educational quality and create meaningful, lasting improvements across all grade levels.
  3. Collaborative Partnerships: By working closely with families and community organizations, we strive to address each student’s unique needs, fostering an environment where every student can thrive and families feel supported and empowered.
  4. Flexibility for Effective Learning Environments: Title I funding allows Pecos Cyber Academy the flexibility to tailor our approach, addressing the needs of our diverse student population while promoting innovative educational strategies.

At Pecos Cyber Academy, we believe that with the right support, every student can succeed.

Frequently Asked Questions

To qualify for Title I funds, a school must demonstrate that at least 50% of its students are economically disadvantaged. This enables us to provide resources and services that support student achievement.

Title I services are available only at eligible schools. Each school, including ours, uses specific criteria to identify and support students who qualify for these services.

A team of administrators, staff, and parents, known as the Instructional Council, evaluates program needs based on data from state and internal assessments. Our Title I programming aligns with our 90-Day Plan to meet our academic goals.

Our District’s Title I Resource Staff offers guidance and mentorship, providing essential technical assistance and instructional support to ensure our program’s success and compliance with Title I standards.

Each year, we host an Annual Meeting to explain our Title I budget, programs, and school goals. Parents are encouraged to reach out to our administration at any time for more information on how Title I benefits our students.

Pecos Cyber Academy allocates funds specifically for parent engagement, allowing families to be active participants in shaping our educational goals and improving outcomes for all students. By participating in these activities, you can directly impact the educational journey of your child and others.
